What’s up people, so I was tagged by Lady B of  Literary Everything of who was tagged by EziChi of The Chaise and Lounge

I was happy when lady B notified me through her comments on my blog that she tagged me in her recent post. I was unable to check it out immediately, but when I did later on, I was overwhelmed. Ring the bell! This is my first tag post. I’ll be talking of some engaging books I have in my shelf and the ones I once had and I wish to get my hands on again.

A BOOK YOU GOT AS A GIFT

Beauty for ashes was given to me by my aunt, it’s a Christian living/inspirational book. Where the author gave deep insights about her growing up, the abuse gotten from her father and how she was able to heal her emotional wounds.

A CHILDHOOD BOOK

 

I grew up in a family that loved reading, so my dad and elder brother always got me books. Please permit to cheat a little here. “it was part of my growing up remember☺?” I read Enid Blyton’s books, he had lots of collections and I read most of them, “the magic brush, the little lost hen, poor old lazy bones” and so many more. I remember accurately when my brother used to call me “lazy bones”, I couldn’t catch the nitty-gritty until my dad bought this book for me. I think this book gave me a huge pump to sit up.

Another book I read as a kid was, An African Night’s Entertainment by Cyprian Ekwensi. I had a strong connection with this book guys!! My elder brother got this one; I would really want to read this book over and over again, if I ever lay my hands on the hardcopy; I’m not really into E-books. I learnt from this book that “a girl who has never been married, is like a cloth in the market. It is not the highest bidder that will buy it, but who the seller wants to sell to”.

A MAGICAL BOOK

I had to sort out which of the books I had read that gave a perfect description for this. So permit me to use Interview with the vampire by Anne Rice. This book narrates how a man tells a young boy, his experiences of how he became a vampire and the adventures involved. I got this book from my dad’s library in our hometown.

 

A ROMANTIC BOOK

 

Okay, so permit me to sneak in two books under this category. The first romance book I read in my life was “Man of the house” I took it from my brother’s shelf; my dad seized it when he saw me reading it and shouted at me for trying to read such; I was in JSS1 then. That didn’t stop me from reading it because I later saw where he hide it the following day.

The second book for this category is “Ride the storm”. I felt the challenges each character faced in this novel coupled with the passion.

STEAMY BOOK

The book title “Double fantasy”  says it all. Cheryl Holt made the book have some absurd intense scenes. I have read two of her books, she is such an amazing erotic writer.

 

AN OLD BOOK

The potter’s wheel was a book I read in secondary school. I came across it earlier this year and went through it again. From the storyline, Chukwuemeka Ike tries to make his readers understand that, better things don’t come easily; it centred on the life of a young boy who was his mother’s favourite.

 

A BOOK THAT MAKES ME HAPPY AND/OR LAUGH

I read Our husband has gone mad again in secondary school,when I remember some of the scenes in the drama, I chuckle. These are one of the books I would want to go through it again.

Please permit me for the last time, yea I know, I won’t do this again👏. 29, single and Nigerian was so organic and touching. I took it from my cousin, thanks Jay for sharing.

A BOOK THAT MAKES ME EMOTIONAL

The best part of me illustrates the life of two young lovers (Dawson and Amanda) who couldn’t be together from the challenges encompassing their environment. After many years they saw each other again but the woman was married with a son. They tried to catch up with old times unbeknown to them, fate had a different connection for them; where Dawson voluntarily gives his heart for Amanda’s son’s emergency heart transplant, without her concert. Amanda finally knew who the anonymous donor was. That the best part of her was beating in her son. (Dawson’s heart).

A BOOK WHOSE ENDING YOU DISLIKE

The sorrows of Satan was a book I stumbled on my dad’s shelf in 2012, it gives a story of a very poor man, who had three choices to elevate his poverty but decided to choose the option from the devil, despite the pieces of advice he got from people. He finally became wealthy but his wealth crumpled down in a straight line like a domino effect and this took him back to the grasses with torment and misery. Guys, when I see the way young people are in quest for wealth in this current time, my thoughts fall back on this book.

A BOOK YOU WISH HAD ILLUSTRATIONS

There was a country ,I got it from my mum in 2015, I went through it again around April this year. I just wished it had illustrations to see what my people went through. I was still able to enjoy it with my own mental pictures.

A BOOK OR GENRE THAT YOU LOVE READING WHEN IT’S RAINING

Well, I don’t have a particular book for this category, many books fall into it. I just read the book I have been on before the rain. It could be fiction, horror, romance or inspirational. So i decided to just put the book I’m currently reading. vendetta is a book filled with suspense, where a young girl named Sophie, finds love but no one knows how that would turn out to be, her family is totally against it.
